Senior Structural Engineer

The Role
Experience Level
Minimum 8 + years experience.
Typical Projects
Predominantly concrete structures - multi level residential, commercial, education, aged care and retail.
External structural peer reviews.
The opportunity to work on a wide variety of non-typical projects, including heritage retrofit, structural rectification, complex steel structures, infrastructure and civil structures.
Typical Project Scope
Key Responsibilities
Leading structural design and analysis for the above noted types of projects.
Working closely with Clients delivering practical and economical solutions to engineering challenges.
Preparing designs, documentation, reports, and specifications for projects.
A practical understanding of project scope, time and cost requirements to meet objectives.
Coordinating with architects, builders and services engineers on design issues.
Ability to manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity from fee proposal stage through to completion.
Experience with contract management, invoicing, forecasting and resourcing.
Completion of tasks on time, with accuracy and to agreed specifications.
Ensure that work meets quality system and client requirements, as well as complying with Australian standards, codes, compliance, government and industry regulation.
Provide technical assistance and troubleshoot any relevant construction/engineering issues which may arise.

Relevant tertiary degree qualifications in Engineering.
8+ years of experience with a specialisation in concrete structures.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and documentation).
Effective client management and service skills.
Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Ability to build and maintain effective internal/external professional working relationships.

Software Requirements
Proficiency in structural analysis software, included but not limited to Space Gass, RAM Concept, RAPT and Inducta.
