The Role
Experience Level
Minimum 3 + years’ experience.
Typical Projects
Commercial & government buildings – offices, community facilities, education, health, aged care and retail developments.
Multi-level structures – predominantly reinforced concrete and structural steel construction.
Existing structures – structural assessments, alterations, additions, remediation, strengthening and heritage retrofits.
Specialist & non-typical projects – complex steel structures, industrial facilities, infrastructure and civil structures.
Typical Project Scope
Key Responsibilities
Undertake structural analysis, design and documentation for a range of commercial, government and other building projects.
Work under the guidance of senior engineers while progressively taking ownership of design tasks and project deliverables.
Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, reports, specifications and other project documentation.
Liaise with architects, builders, clients and other consultants to resolve design and construction issues.
Manage assigned tasks across multiple projects, ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently and within agreed timeframes.
Develop a practical understanding of project scope, programme and cost requirements.
Provide technical support during construction and assist with resolving site and engineering issues.
Ensure all work complies with relevant Australian Standards, NCC requirements, project specifications, quality systems and client requirements.
Develop strong technical and project management skills with opportunities to take increasing responsibility for projects.

Essential Criteria
Relevant tertiary degree qualifications in Engineering.
3+ years of experience in structural engineering with reinforced concrete and structural steel design.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear engineering documentation.
Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines across multiple projects.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, colleagues, consultants and contractors.
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop technical and project management capabilities.

Software Requirements
Experience in structural analysis software, included but not limited to Space Gass, RAM Concept, RAPT and Inducta.
