NOTABLE PROJECTS
Project Rainbow, White Sands SA
Structural Design Lead Engineer
Civil & structural design and documentation of the 13-level mill building, inground hoppers, silo stands, various warehouses and 45 silos and associated walkways. The new $53 million facility will be utilised by Ingham’s for the production of high-quality animal feed, with a capacity to produce 100 tons of feed per hour:
Structural design of large structures.
Mechanical equipment supports design & coordination.
Design of deep hopper pit.
Design of large silo support structures and footings.
Providing a structural design that was correct while coordinating with an ever-changing mechanical equipment design and layout.
Tan Burrup Ammonia Nitrate Bulk Storage Facility, Burrup Peninsula WA.
Structural Design Lead Engineer
The design of a large 48 metre clear span building with 15 metre eaves in a D cyclonic wind region (the highest cyclonic wind speed requirements in Australia):
Structural design of large span structures.
Large spans with large wind loads.
The coating systems for the steel structure in the open bulk ammonia nitrate environment.
Due to the cyclonic rating there were extremely large uplift loads for the project. A footing system was designed which included the design and testing of rock anchors to greatly reduce the required rock excavation for footings.
Cavpower Project, Adelaide SA
Structural Design Lead Engineer
Cavill Power Maintenance and Dyno Testing Facility, Grand Junction Rd Gepps Cross. The design aspects for this project included 32 tonne overhead gantry cranes, 10 tonne jib cranes, 40 tonne axle load forklifts and two truck engine dynos with large torque loads:
Structural design of structures with large loads & vibrations.
Structure supported many overhead and jib cranes.
Large loading to concrete slabs.
